Xiaomi Mi Band a little fitness tracker at Rs 799/- only

The Xiaomi Mi Band is a funny little fitness tracker. It's light, it's durable and it's seriously cheap at around Rs 799. Then again, Xiaomi's budget first wearable can also be very temperamental so it's a hit and miss experience.The Mi Band resembles a bracelet in its design, and can be worn on either hand or on the neck. The band's location can be set using the official Mi Band app called Mi Fit.

The band contains the core tracker which is around 9 mm thick, and 36 mm in length. It is inserted into a hypoallergenic TPSiV wristband, which has anti-UV and anti-microbal properties. The tracker is inserted into the charger module, which can be connected to a 5.0 V external power source.

The Mi Band's tracking is somewhere in between apps such as Google Fit and Moves and trackers with real sensors such as heart rate monitors. It tracks steps, distance and estimated calories burned as well as providing a timeline of how long you are active each day.Sleep tracking is much the same, with the Mi Band often out by at least half an hour which might be down to the fact that it's automatic - you don't need to tell Xiaomi you're going to sleep.

The Mi Band has a couple of non-fitness features including an alarm and vibrations when you get a call and Sync with the Mi Band app in real-time via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)
