Google Drive Updated for Android, iOS, and the Web

When you store important files in Google Drive they’re not only safe, they’re accessible from any device. And finding them again from any device should be super easy so we’re rolling out a new search experience to get you better results even faster.
Google announced a slew of updates for its Google Drive storage service on Android, iOS, and Web. While some features have already started rolling out, some will arrive 'in the coming weeks.'

The update will now let users search across all their files, regardless of the device they came from. File search can be narrowed - down to a file type from the search bar. Users can also access advanced search options from the search bar as well.

The search giant has also made several behind-the-scenes improvements to Google Drive with the aim of delivering better search query results than before. More specific results can be found by searching files based on file owner or the email address. Advance search options will also let users search files by date of modification, words they includes, or who has shared them. The update brings the app version to 4.4 and lets users quickly upload photos, or make a search for content stored, when pressed hard on the app icon. The app also gets the ability to receive push notifications whenever a user receives a new file. In addition, the Drive also works with Spotlight, which means that users will be able to look for your Drive files right from the homescreen.

The updated Google Drive app for iOS also brings support for Split View and Slide Over multitasking features as well. These features allow users to open the app on one part of the screen, right next to another app, and also let them drag and drop data from other apps.
